A Birthday fit for a King

We celebrated for 3 days! The King doesn't like a fuss so we did a slow-release, gentle-bell-curve-graph kinda birthday-thing. No huge spikes of festivity, no extravagant gifts, just continual quite celebration (fit for royalty).

We celebrated with slow-cooked comfort food...

hot breakfasts...

to-live-for (frightfully expensive) strawberry cheesecake and chocolate mousse cake

(and rest) all weekend long. And then on The Day (Monday evening) we crowned it all with a fillet-steak-stack-supper topped with all the bits that we wouldn't ordinarily have: rocket, blue cheese, fig preserve, bacon, caramelised onion and crispy potato medallions - absolutely nothing healthy. We're all smiling - and still eating cake almost a week later...
